Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure®
“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® (JSD) uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension, balance the “Qi” or energy, and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma- related problems. A unique synthesis of traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, JSD acupressure was originated by psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden.
Energy flows through our bodies like water flows through waterways. When waterways get blocked by debris, water begins to accumulate upstream of the block, causing flooding, and there becomes a deficit or drought below. In our bodies, when the energy pathway is blocked by muscle tension from stress or injury, it causes similar surpluses and deficiencies that can then manifest as headaches, pain, insomnia, and a host of other ailments.During JSD, one often feels the blocks melting, the tension releasing, and the balance returning. The focus on the body often becomes easier and more pleasant. Many have described feeling a trance like state into which one wants to relax and allow.
For those who want the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine but prefer human touch over needles, acupressure is a valuable alternative. Plus, touch is a biological necessity that many people just don't get enough of in our modern times. This clothes-on method also offers safety for those that do not feel comfortable disrobing for a massage but still seek relief from stress and tension.

For most people, once learned, TRE® can be used as a self help modality to reduce general stress and pain and to improve overall well being. For those with a known history of trauma, it may be helpful to work with a practitioner until they feel comfortable self regulating and continuing on their own.
Restorative ExerciseTM
Restorative ExerciseTM is a movement protocol based on the biomechanical model of the human body. Our bodies are flexible, sensitive, lubricated pieces of machinery. Well, at least they have the potential to be. Unfortunately, the way we use our bodies does not encourage them to be flexible or resilient. Instead, we reinforce the same movement patterns over and over again, but then are surprised when we feel pain, or lose range of motion or the ability to do the things we used to do with ease.
Restorative ExerciseTM was created by biomechanist and author, Katy Bowman. It is based on physics, physiology, anatomy, and engineering, and presents a type of owner's manual to the human machine. Using objective alignment markers, you will learn whether you are using your body "as designed," or whether you, through regular daily use, are creating unnecessary friction or pressure on joints, ligaments, organs, vertebrae, etc. that is contributing to muscle tightness, muscle weakness, inflammation, and even osteoporosis.
Learn exercises that can help you restore your muscles to their appropriate length and strength. Learn how to apply your new alignment to your daily movement, to prevent/minimize further degeneration and improve cellular regeneration, optimum blood flow, healthy nerve function, and lymph removal.

Fee: $120 / hour; prorated as needed.
Duration: First session typically lasts about 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions typically last about an hour.

Fee: $140.
Duration: About 90 minutes.
Service: TRE - Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises Subsequent Individual Sessions
Fee: $120 / hour; prorated as needed.
Duration: About 50 minutes.
Service: TRE - Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises Three Individual Sessions Package
Fee: $300.
Duration: First session is about 90 minutes. The two subsequent sessions are about 50 minutes each.
Note: The remaining two sessions should be scheduled within 45 days of the Initial Session.
